Height(Karun, Khuzestan Province)

I was always looking for an opportunity to go to nearby villages in the south of Ahvaz Karoon say that this opportunity was Zstan 1398. After a brief search, I found that in one of the villages called Alveh alveh, activities were carried out to attract tourists, and the location of the village near Karun was what I had in mind. Alwa means a place higher than the surroundings.

Combining groves and wheat fields in Alveh village

Our trip to Khuzestan for a few days was a combination of a trip to Shadegan Wetland and Alveh village. You can read the travelogue of Shadegan wetland here.
We were in Sarakhieh the day we were going to Alwa. From Sarakhieh, thanks to local drivers, we came to the Ahvaz-Abadan highway and took a rental car to the village of Islamabad.(Approximately 10 km from Ahvaz) We reached the side of the highway. In order to close up to this point, after informing the drivers about the address for the 20 km route, they gave us strange and expensive prices, so we decided to go the route piece by piece with passing cars.. He went to the other side of the highway and it was the first truck and he kindly took us to the same way, that is, at the end of a crossroads in two kilometers.. We were waiting for a passing car when a car passed by and its destination did not reach us until the nearby village of Tarfayeh. But a few minutes after he left, he turned around and, with great grace, picked us up. Hussein Agha was from Tarfayeh village. Tarfayeh was a large village attached to Karun. Karun turns dozens in this direction to Khorramshahr and there are many villages along the old road from Ahvaz to Khorramshahr and almost all of them are Arabs.. Hussein Agha, who we intend to see and experience, offered a short tour of the side. Although they insisted on staying and this is one of the characteristics of hospitality and great kindness of the honorable people of Khuzestan, but our plan was clear because we intended to do so.. In addition to their work, Hossein Agha was also involved in horse breeding. The scene of seeing their horses in a grove near Karun is unforgettable. One by one he introduced the horses they were and their lineage. The horse racing field is in Shushtar and from time to time horses go to race. Large dams were built around Karun, which is related to the May 1998 floods. It is horrible to see how the water of this huge bed, which was now at least 10 meters below our feet and spilled at that time, is terrible.. Hossein Agha was talking about the siege in the flood and the flooding of the road from Ahvaz. Many farms were damaged here.

It was finally before noon that I found myself in Alwe. The small village of Alveh, whose name is now far away, and many travelers come here from Ahvaz and other places for sightseeing or lunch, and all this is the work of an honorable and well-mannered man named Abu Ali, who with his pure intention encourages the people for tourism. Has prepared. At the beginning of the village, there is a large open space, and the mud of the village is also here.

The beginning of the visit here is the presence of a beautiful and old flower arrangement where Arabic coffee is drawn for the guests.. This mausoleum is more than 100 years old and belongs to the father of Abu Ali Veda. Decorated with old objects and brief handicrafts made by the villagers, it was also there for display. From his explanations, we found out that all the residents are in addition to a family from a great ancestor who is the father of Abu Ali. Abu Ali showed us a larger Mudif building near Mudif Goli, but we did not see the inside. It was used for large gatherings. The interior was particularly quiet and cool, and the taste of coffee and sour tea was excellent.

Mudif Goli of Alveh village

A little about coffee etiquette in Arabic:

The coffee makers in Mudif were in this order: Gum gum(The biggest dish), تباحه, دَلِه و صابوب(Used for catering).

Making and serving coffee in Arabic style is an interesting attraction. In addition, they roast the purchased green coffee beans and pulverize them with an old hand shredder.. The coffee makers in Mudif were in this order: Gum gum(The biggest dish), تباحه, دَلِه و صابوب(Used for catering). It is brewed step by step, filtered and finally served. Of course, this brew and machine is for large volumes of coffee. I could not find these names anywhere else and only the lost ones are mentioned in the sources.
The person in charge of serving coffee comes in front of the guests with two cups in his right hand and Daleh or Saboob in his left hand.. Pour a little in the cup and give it to the guest. He gives so much coffee that the guest shakes the cup in his hand, and that is a sign of sufficiency. To receive women, one must kneel and perform the operation. In Mudif Abu Ali, they welcomed us with several models of coffee. In addition, sour tea is a regular addition.

We were sent to a resident's house for lunch and rest. Mr. Murid and his wife and their young son Hussein were our hosts and we lived in their guest room which had a separate door to the courtyard.. Mr. Murid was engaged in the sugarcane industry and his agricultural spirit spread at home and they made a clean yard of citrus and flower growing..

They had a metal oven in the yard and Mr. Mardid's wife baked excellent bread for us at every meal. Wholemeal bread and dates are a complete meal. The dates of Alwa are mainly of the Samaran type, which was very attractive in greed. It has a dry texture and is easy to maintain.

There were not many buffaloes in the village of Alveh, similar to the villages south of Ahvaz

Winter sunset moments in addition

In the evening, after resting, while the warm but warm sun of Khuzestan was still shining, we went to Karun, which was about 700 meters away, at the suggestion of Abu Ali.. We talked with Abu Ali about various topics about herbs, medicinal plants and agricultural situation until we reached Karun Bozorg.. The route passed through groves and farms. The wheat was also green and its combination with the grove was a dreamy sight. Abu Ali revives sour tea cultivation here and in late October and early November, the sour tea harvest festival will be held in Allou. The fields are at least 10 meters above the river level. For irrigation in the agricultural season, pumps with diesel engines are temporarily installed and water is withdrawn from the river.. The muddy Karun was passing at a speed of approximately 1 meter per second. The width of the river here is about 150 meters. Abu Ali described swimming and diving in Karun and how much he swam across the river, which I think is very difficult.. He guessed that the river is now at most three to four meters deep. Showed us a point that used to be a water bed and that point was almost 50 meters wider than our current point. There are many villages on the other side of the river, that is, on the west side, but because the communication bridges are few and far between, there is no communication here and there.. The big diesel engine house on the other side was busy pumping water.

When we returned to the groves, we could hear the date nightingale. The work of groves for fertility peaks in March and must be fertilized manually. Male trees are limited and mostly female. To determine which male tree is, the method is to mound(In the local language) In the male tree earlier in May, July, early February.

We go to Mozif in the dark and are served with sour tea. Several guest families came from Ahvaz and we chatted. Passengers and guests can prepare food for guests if they arrange in advance.

روست The villagers are very kind and Abu Ali has talked to the villagers about tourism. It is worthwhile to help and encourage them in this way by preserving the values and social norms in the small village, in addition to them, so that we do not cause them regret in this way..
وه Alweh is in the south of Ahvaz. From Allouh to Ahvaz is about 20 km that can be passed through the old coastal road and in this route from the side of Ahvaz to visit Gaumishabad, Kut Abdullah, Kot Seyed Saleh, Mozaffariyeh village, Ghazavieh and Bahorham. The other route came from Ahvaz-Abadan highway to the side of Islamabad village and after that the route continued to Tarfayeh and Alaveh villages..

Kut Abdullah, buffalo breeding
In summer, buffaloes are brought to Karun for swimming three times a day.
Cows love water and swimming, and after a few minutes their owner calls them with a special whistle or song, or sometimes their owner goes into the water and leads them out.. Near Tehran in Kut Abdullah and Gaumishabad, huge herds of Karun cattle were very interesting.
Sometimes the buffaloes were a little restless at the water's edge, perhaps because of the water craze. We cautiously distanced ourselves from them as they leaned toward us. Their owners said that sometimes they beat us. be careful.
